Deaconess of South Phoenix Baptist Church are Christian women committed to serving God, and appointed to serve by the Pastor. Deaconess consider it an honor to serve, and do so in a variety of ways, i.e., providing items for Communion, making preparation for Baptisms, church Devotion, caring for the sick and shut in, visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and private homes serving Communion to sick and shut in members, and helping less fortunate families. Deacons and Deaconess work together towards Building Fund projects, and sponsor the church’s Annual Fellowship Day. We also support a variety of church auxiliaries and functions. Deaconess are prayer warriors, committed to prayer by attending weekly Noon Day Prayer Services, praying for the church, the Pastor, the sick and shut-in, and the Community. Ephesians 6:11 reads: Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
